We began working with “Matty” in March of 2008. She had been given time off the previous fall as her owner had been focussing on her final year of University.

Matty was a very quick learner and in less than 4 months had progressed from an out of shape Third Level Horse to a competitive Advanced Level Horse.

She placed consistently in the top 5 on the Young Rider circuit, placing 1st in the Young Rider Team at the Equivents Blainville Summer Classic. Attaining scores as high as 64% in her first year in the FEI Ring was a phenomenal achievement and we were very proud of Matty. She also qualified for her Dressage Canada Gold Medal.

Briannon suffered a severe knee injury in early Aug 2008 before her and Matty were able to finish their season together, but in a very lucky twist of events Mattise and her owner Christy were able to successfully complete their very first Prix St George that September!

Tragically, after Mattise returned to her owners private farm, she lost her battle with persistent colic in the fall of 2009. She was a wonderful, feisty mare and our sympathies go to her owners in this difficult time.
